Chelsea’s forward, Romelu Lukaku, has reportedly made a decision to spend the summer of 2019 in Saudi Arabia, sealing a deal worth “millions,” as per recent reports. Despite a less-than-impressive return to Chelsea, the Belgian striker has encountered challenges in confirming his permanent departure from the team.

The Blues, recognizing the need for a goal scorer, invested nearly £100 million to bring Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge. Initially thriving under Thomas Tuchel, Lukaku showcased his scoring prowess early in the Premier League.

His form dwindled due to injury and fitness issues, coupled with a critical player interview regarding the head coach’s utilization of him. These factors strained relations, leading Lukaku to return to Inter Milan on loan the following season.

Despite remaining open to potential moves, Lukaku’s comments about considering a rival team seemed to sour his connection with Inter Milan. Opting for a move to Saudi Arabia, Lukaku joined AS Roma under the management of Jose Mourinho, temporarily putting concerns about a long-term Chelsea departure on hold.

While his future remained uncertain, reports from journalist Fabio Santini suggest that Lukaku has already agreed to relocate to Saudi Arabia, indicating a resolution to the ongoing saga.

This decision comes in the wake of Chelsea’s strategic moves in the transfer market, including the acquisitions of Edouard Mendy and Kalidou Koulibaly, as well as N’Golo Kante’s free transfer to Saudi Arabia after the expiration of his contract. Lukaku’s potential departure would further strengthen Chelsea’s financial position and influence in the market, aligning with the club’s commitment to compliance with financial regulations.

Despite concerns about Chelsea’s finances and recent warnings following Everton’s ten-point penalty, the club maintains that they are not violating any regulations regarding excessive spending. The trend suggests that Chelsea will continue to navigate the market with financial prudence, leveraging potential player transfers to enhance their standing and influence.
