Following Chelsea’s 4-2 defeat to Wolves, Thiago Silva’s wife, Belle, appears to have called for the dismissal of manager Mauricio Pochettino. The Blues aimed to recover from their 4-1 loss at Anfield, with Cole Palmer scoring the opening goal at Stamford Bridge.

However, the lead was short-lived, as Matheus Cunha swiftly equalized, and Axel Disasi’s own goal just before halftime handed Wolves a slender advantage. The halftime exit of Chelsea’s players was met with boos from disappointed fans. The second half saw Cunha completing a hat-trick, further souring the atmosphere.

Thiago Silva managed to score a late goal from a corner, but the majority of fans had already left, and those remaining engaged in heated exchanges. Some supporters chanted Roman Abramovich’s name, while others, in unison with Wolves fans, derided Chelsea’s performance.

Beyond disgruntled supporters, it seems Thiago Silva’s wife, Belle, is also discontented with Pochettino and the team’s performance. On the social media platform X, just before the end of the game, she posted, “It’s time to change. It will be too late if you wait any longer.”

The sentiment was widely interpreted as a call for Pochettino’s removal, garnering agreement from fans, including one prominent supporter, Frank Khalid, who amusingly replied, “I’d rather you manage Chelsea!”

While Belle’s statement resonated with some, there were questions about the professionalism of a current player’s spouse openly criticizing the manager on a public platform. This isn’t the first time Belle Silva has used social media to express dissatisfaction with Chelsea or a former manager, having been notably critical during Graham Potter’s tenure last season.

The loss against Wolves places Chelsea in 11th position in the Premier League, trailing 15 points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa, the last team with a guaranteed spot in the Champions League.

Chelsea’s substantial spending over the past 18 months was seemingly driven by aspirations of securing a top-four finish or at least qualifying for European competitions, ambitions that now appear challenging to fulfill based on their current standing.
