Chelsea settled for a 2-2 draw against Brentford in their recent Premier League encounter at the GTech Community Stadium on March 2, requiring a late equalizer to salvage a point.

Initially taking the lead through Nicolas Jackson’s goal in the 35th minute, marking his second consecutive game finding the net, the Blues faced a spirited comeback from Brentford in the second half.

Mads Roerslev (59′) and Yoane Wissa (69′) found the back of the net for the hosts, seizing control of the match.

Axel Disasi, however, nodded in an equalizer for Chelsea in the 83rd minute, sparing them from a defeat.

Despite the late comeback, Chelsea supporters expressed dissatisfaction on social media platforms, with some fans voicing their discontent and calling for managerial change.

Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea remain in 11th place in the Premier League standings with 36 points from 26 games.

Their next fixture is a home encounter against Newcastle United on March 11.

The draw against Brentford marked Chelsea’s return to league action after a two-week hiatus, with their previous league outing resulting in a draw against Manchester City at the Etihad on February 17.

The Blues managed to overcome Leeds United in the FA Cup fifth round with a late winner in their most recent fixture before the Brentford clash.

However, they suffered a setback with a 1-0 defeat to Liverpool in the EFL Cup final prior to that.

Despite Brentford securing only two victories in their last 12 games, they have consistently proven to be a formidable opponent for Chelsea since their promotion.

The Bees claimed a victory at Stamford Bridge earlier in the season and came close to completing a double over Chelsea in the recent encounter.

With Chelsea now winless in their last five encounters against Brentford, the Bees have emerged as a challenging adversary for the Blues in the Premier League, having won and drawn three of their last five matchups.

Looking ahead, Chelsea will shift their focus to the upcoming clash against Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge next Monday, aiming to bounce back from the disappointment against Brentford.
