Chelsea is reportedly gearing up for the upcoming transfer window to bolster their squad following a disappointing Premier League season.
As part of their efforts, they have offered Enzo Fernandez and Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid. Victor Osimhen from Napoli is rumored to be their primary target.
To afford such a signing, Chelsea may need to offload several players, including Romelu Lukaku, Ian Maatsen, Lewis Hall, and possibly Thiago Silva, who could be considering a return to Fluminense.
However, despite Chelsea’s overtures, Real Madrid has decided against pursuing Fernandez and Cucurella.
Real Madrid is focusing on other targets such as Kylian Mbappe, Alphonso Davies, and Leny Yoro, with Trent Alexander-Arnold also on their radar.
Real Madrid considers Davies to be a superior left-back compared to Cucurella and does not see Fernandez as an upgrade to their midfield, which already boasts talents like Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, Federico Valverde, Jude Bellingham, Toni Kroos, and Luka Modric.
Although Chelsea paid a combined €186.5m for Fernandez and Cucurella, neither player has lived up to expectations.
Fernandez had a promising start but struggled during the current season, while Cucurella often finds himself on the sidelines when Ben Chilwell is available.
Despite rumors of Cucurella’s potential departure, Chelsea is still actively searching for a left-back.
