BREAKING NEWS: Challenges seem to be escalating both on the field and in the internal workings of Chelsea.

Since acquiring Chelsea from Roman Abramovich and Clearlake Capital in 2022, the American owner has taken full control, leading to significant changes and challenges.

Unfortunately, the team has struggled, failing to secure any trophies in the past two years despite substantial investments, amounting to nearly £1 billion in player transfers.

The managerial carousel has seen four different leaders, with Frank Lampard’s interim stint proving disastrous, leading to the subsequent dismissals of Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter.

Mauricio Pochettino, formerly at Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain, is presently at the helm, steering Chelsea to an 11th-place standing in the Premier League.

Much criticism has been directed at the American owner, with many attributing the team’s shortcomings to his decision-making.

According to reports, there’s a contractual agreement among Chelsea’s owners, suggesting that the current chairman may step down in three years.

This arrangement allows for a change in chairmanship every five years, potentially giving Behdad Eghbali and Jose Feliciano of Clearlake Capital the opportunity to select Boehly’s replacement by 2027.

However, this agreement is not binding, and Boehly might reclaim the position in 2032 if Clearlake wins the chairmanship bid.

It’s crucial to note that this reported agreement is more of a suggestion than a commitment.

If Clearlake chooses not to propose a replacement, Boehly could continue leading Chelsea.

Despite the intense criticism, there’s a claim that Eghbali’s influence within the team has significantly grown over the past year.

The article emphasizes that, although there’s an agreement in place, there’s no indication that Eghbali and Feliciano will accept the post, and Boehly has no intention of stepping down voluntarily.

Boehly has been a regular presence at Chelsea games, while Eghbali and Feliciano have largely remained out of the public eye.
