Chelsea’s encounter with Burnley ended in a 2-2 draw, bringing further frustration for Cole Palmer and his team.

However, amidst the disappointment, the 21-year-old attacking midfielder achieved a significant milestone by contributing one of Chelsea’s goals.

Palmer’s impressive performance this season has seen him involved in a total of 20 Chelsea goals, with 12 goals and eight assists in the English Premier League alone.

Palmer’s achievement has made history at Chelsea, as he became the youngest player in the club’s history to reach 20 goals and assists in a single Premier League campaign.

Additionally, he is the first 21-year-old to accomplish this feat in the club’s esteemed history.

Despite Chelsea’s struggles in the standings, Palmer has been a standout performer, tallying 16 goals and 12 assists in 37 appearances across all competitions.

However, Palmer experienced disappointment during the recent international break.

Although named in the England squad for friendly matches against Brazil and Belgium, he did not feature in either game.

England’s coach, Gareth Southgate, expressed concerns about Palmer’s fitness levels, leading to his exclusion as a precautionary measure.

Unlike other players whose readiness was assured, Palmer’s absence was a result of fitness concerns.

Mauricio Pochettino, Chelsea’s coach, acknowledged Palmer’s disappointment at missing out on international action.

Pochettino revealed that Palmer had a minor issue before the first game, which kept him out of the lineup.

Despite hoping to play against Belgium, Palmer remained sidelined.

His desire to represent his country and contribute on the international stage remains evident.

Looking ahead, Palmer is determined to maintain his stellar performances for Chelsea, aiming to secure a place in England’s squad for the Euro 2024 tournament in Germany.

As he continues to excel for Chelsea, Palmer seeks to strengthen his credentials and establish himself among England’s top talents on the international scene.
