BREAKING NEWS: Gabby Agbonlahor recommends that Todd Boehly consider parting ways with the Chelsea player who is underperforming and earning £40,000 more per week than Gallagher.

In recent years, Chelsea supporters have faced challenges despite significant investments, experiencing managerial changes and a 12th-place finish last season.

Under Mauricio Pochettino’s temporary management this year, they currently hold the 11th spot.

Todd Boehly’s strategy of investing in young talent hasn’t yielded substantial results yet, with high-earning players potentially not justifying their salaries.

One such player earning significantly more than Conor Gallagher, a lifelong Chelsea supporter, has made limited impact since joining last year.

Despite a less than ideal debut season with 45 appearances, Gallagher, at 24, has shown improvement this season with four goals and six assists in 36 appearances, even serving as captain in the absence of key players.

His weekly wage of £50,000 seems justifiable, especially when compared to Benoît Badiashile, a French defender earning £90,000 per week, nearly double Gallagher’s salary.

Badiashile’s significant earnings become less justifiable considering his limited playing time, attributed to injuries and subpar performances.

Since his £35 million transfer last January, Badiashile has appeared in only 23 matches, with missed games due to injuries and criticized displays.

His performances, notably at Anfield and in a League Cup match, have raised questions about the club’s £40 million expenditure on him.

Despite being 22 years old, Badiashile’s recurring injury issues and underwhelming performances cast doubt on his future impact for Chelsea.

While there’s still a chance for improvement, the substantial investment in the young French player raises concerns about money possibly being squandered, at least for the time being.
