BREAKING NEWS: Live from Stamford Bridge, Chelsea are on the verge of signing one of the top coaches in the world after confirming talks with him

Chelsea has promptly commenced the search for a new manager following the departure of Mauricio Pochettino.

Pochettino’s tenure at Chelsea was notably brief and characterized by a visible disconnect between him and the club’s board.

Despite these issues, Pochettino managed to get the team playing some impressive football towards the end of the season.

Interestingly, Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is reportedly keen on hiring a manager who emphasizes possession-based, attacking football.

This was precisely the style that Pochettino had been implementing during his time at the club.

However, despite aligning with this vision, Pochettino is no longer at the helm.

Among the potential candidates to take over and potentially revolutionize Chelsea’s squad is a name that could particularly benefit player Levi Colwill.

Reports from Portugal indicate that Chelsea has identified Roberto De Zerbi and Fulham manager Marco Silva as potential hires.

Roberto De Zerbi, who previously managed Brighton, has been a prominent candidate for several months.

He has already been interviewed by Chelsea’s top officials.

Since De Zerbi is currently unattached after leaving Brighton, he is available without the need for a transfer fee, making him an attractive option compared to other candidates who are still under contract with their respective clubs.

De Zerbi’s coaching style is well known to Premier League followers.

His approach centers around players being comfortable with ball possession and capable of maneuvering in tight spaces, including within their own penalty area.

His teams are known for their ability to dominate possession.

Under his management, Brighton averaged an impressive 60.2% possession this season, effectively minimizing the amount of time opponents had with the ball.

Hiring De Zerbi could bring a transformative approach to Chelsea, perfectly aligning with Boehly’s vision of an attacking, possession-oriented team.

De Zerbi’s ability to instill a possession-based style of play could enhance the team’s performance and provide the attacking flair that Boehly desires.

Marco Silva, another candidate on Chelsea’s list, has also shown an ability to implement an attacking and possession-based style of football.

Currently managing Fulham, Silva has brought a sense of stability and attacking impetus to the club.

His experience in the Premier League and understanding of English football could make him a suitable option for Chelsea.

The search for a new manager is a crucial decision for Chelsea, as it will determine the direction of the team moving forward.

Boehly’s interest in a manager who prioritizes possession-based football suggests a desire to return to a more traditional, entertaining style of play that has historically been associated with Chelsea.

The appointment of either De Zerbi or Silva could bring about the desired change and help Chelsea achieve their long-term goals.

Moreover, the potential new manager will have the task of developing young talents such as Levi Colwill, who could benefit significantly from a coach with a strong emphasis on possession and attacking football.

This nurturing of young talent is vital for Chelsea’s future success and aligns with the club’s strategy of developing and integrating youth players into the first team.
