BREAKING NEWS: Chelsea has agreed to a €19 million deal for Aston Villa teenager Omari Kellyman

Chelsea Football Club has reached a £19 million transfer agreement with Aston Villa for the highly promising teenager Omari Kellyman, marking their second signing of the summer.

The 18-year-old England Under-19 international is expected to finalize personal terms and undergo a medical examination before officially joining the Blues.

Kellyman is anticipated to sign a long-term contract, likely ranging from five to six years, demonstrating Chelsea’s commitment to his development and future potential.

Kellyman has already gained valuable experience with six first-team appearances for Aston Villa, including two in the Premier League last season.

He will now join Chelsea under the guidance of manager Enzo Maresca, who is building a talented young squad.

This transfer follows the recent free transfer of Tosin Adarabioyo from Fulham and an agreement with Palmeiras for the highly-rated Estevao Willian, who will join Chelsea next summer.

Interestingly, the move for Kellyman coincides with Aston Villa agreeing to a £37.5 million deal for Chelsea’s Ian Maatsen. Maatsen, a Netherlands left-back, is set to finalize personal terms for his transfer to Villa Park.

Borussia Dortmund had also shown interest in making Maatsen’s season-long loan permanent, but they were unable to meet Chelsea’s financial demands.

This transfer highlights Chelsea’s strategic approach to building their squad, both in terms of youth development and experienced talent.

By securing Kellyman’s signature, Chelsea is investing in the future, while also allowing Maatsen to join Aston Villa, where he will likely receive more playing time and continue his growth as a player.

The agreement between Chelsea and Aston Villa demonstrates a mutually beneficial relationship between the two clubs, with both teams strengthening their squads through this transfer deal.

As Chelsea looks to build a competitive team for the upcoming season, the addition of Kellyman and the departure of Maatsen showcase the club’s commitment to strategic squad management and development.
