BREAKING NEWS: Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag has reportedly informed a £60m United star to leave the club this week or face contract termination, similar to what happened with Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho earlier this season.

Manchester United and Crystal Palace played out a frustrating 0-0 draw at Selhurst Park, with both teams missing key chances that could have sealed a win. Despite Manchester United’s recent goal-scoring form, netting 10 goals in their last two matches, they struggled to replicate that attacking prowess in this encounter.

Key players such as Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes had clear chances but failed to capitalize, while former United goalkeeper Dean Henderson delivered an outstanding performance, making several important saves to deny his former club.

The game started with United looking the more dangerous side, dominating possession and creating a flurry of chances in the first half. United came close to taking the lead when both Garnacho and Fernandes struck the crossbar within moments of each other. Garnacho, who has shown great promise recently, was unlucky not to convert, and Fernandes, usually reliable in such situations, saw his effort denied by the woodwork.

Henderson was also instrumental in keeping the scoreline level, making several crucial saves to frustrate his former teammates. United’s inability to break the deadlock despite controlling much of the play in the first half would ultimately come back to haunt them.

Crystal Palace, on the other hand, struggled to impose themselves in the early stages of the game. However, after a lackluster first half, they emerged much stronger in the second period, particularly following halftime adjustments made by manager Oliver Glasner.

His substitutions seemed to inject fresh energy into the side, and Palace began to look more threatening in attack. Despite their improved play, they still found it difficult to get past United’s solid defense and the commanding presence of goalkeeper Andre Onana.

Palace’s best chances came later in the game, with Eddie Nketiah having a low shot denied by Onana, who was quick to react. The follow-up effort from Ismaila Sarr was also blocked by the United goalkeeper, maintaining the deadlock.

Eberechi Eze then missed a golden opportunity to put Palace ahead, failing to convert from a well-placed pass by Sarr, dragging his shot wide of the target. The home fans were left disappointed as Palace couldn’t find a way through United’s defense.

Overall, the match was characterized by missed chances and solid goalkeeping from both sides. United will feel they should have taken the lead in the first half, given their dominance and the quality of chances they created.

Henderson’s heroics in goal, however, ensured that Palace remained in the contest. On the flip side, Crystal Palace’s second-half resurgence showed promise, but their lack of clinical finishing in front of goal ultimately cost them a chance to secure all three points.

While the goalless draw means both teams shared the spoils, neither side will be entirely satisfied with the result. United missed an opportunity to maintain their winning momentum, while Palace, who improved considerably after halftime, will regret not capitalizing on their late chances. The match highlighted both teams’ struggles to convert opportunities into goals, and both managers will likely reflect on what could have been a different outcome had their players been more decisive in the final third.
