BREAKING NEWS: Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has been dismissed this afternoon, with his replacement already announced

Manchester United fans voiced strong frustration following the team’s 2-1 loss to West Ham United at the London Stadium, a setback that interrupted the momentum they had hoped to carry forward after a previous 2-1 victory over Brentford.

While United generated several promising opportunities in the first half, they struggled to capitalize. Diogo Dalot’s missed chance highlighted the day’s recurring issue—a lack of clinical finishing in front of goal.

The game took a downward turn for United in the 74th minute when Crysencio Summerville, who came on as a substitute for West Ham, scored after Alejandro Garnacho’s error. This costly mistake added to the growing disappointment among United supporters.

United managed to equalize briefly in the 81st minute through a well-timed header from Casemiro, which briefly reignited hope for at least a draw. However, that hope was short-lived. In the closing minutes, Matthijs de Ligt fouled Danny Ings, resulting in a penalty that Jarrod Bowen confidently converted in the 92nd minute, securing a late victory for West Ham.

Fans didn’t hold back on social media, focusing much of their criticism on Garnacho. The young Argentine’s performance was seen by many as a wasted opportunity, with Sofascore statistics showing he missed the target three times and lost possession a staggering 16 times. Some supporters questioned Erik ten Hag’s choice to rely so heavily on Garnacho. “Ten Hag treats Rashford like a backup, while Garnacho gets treated like a star,” one fan remarked, expressing concern that the manager might be losing his strategic edge.

Other fans took aim at Garnacho’s technical skills, with one commenting, “His finishing is subpar; he’s our weakest link upfront.” Another fan pointed out Garnacho’s habit of aiming for the top corner, saying, “He always shoots like he’s going for the upper corner.” Many fans were unimpressed with his overall impact, with some stating, “He just runs around without much quality, yet he’s always on the field.”

This defeat has left United in a worrying position—14th in the Premier League standings, just seven points clear of the relegation zone. The team’s recent form is adding to the concern, with only one victory from their last eight games across all competitions.

Erik ten Hag is facing mounting pressure, with fans increasingly impatient over both the results and what they perceive as a lack of tactical changes to improve the team’s performance.

United will next face Leicester City in a Carabao Cup match at home on October 30, followed by an important Premier League clash with Chelsea on November 3. These upcoming fixtures could prove crucial for Ten Hag and his squad, who will be under intense scrutiny as they attempt to regain stability and satisfy a fanbase growing more discontented with each passing match.
