REPORT: Saudi Arabia may deliver Arsenal an ideal transfer window with a massive offer of nearly £130M for FOUR players

    BBy B14 November 2024No Comments3 Mins Read

Arsenal’s talented winger Leandro Trossard has recently caught the attention of the Saudi Pro League, with Al Ittihad showing a particular interest in bringing the Belgian to their ranks.

Since moving to Arsenal from Brighton & Hove Albion in January 2023, Trossard, now 29, has been an influential figure for the Gunners.

His consistent performances have contributed significantly, tallying 31 goal involvements in just 71 appearances for the club.

As reported by *football.london*, Al Ittihad has even placed a substantial €35 million (£29.4 million) offer on the table to sign Trossard before the Saudi transfer window closes on Monday, September 2.

However, Arsenal are not inclined to entertain the idea of letting him go, with manager Mikel Arteta reportedly viewing Trossard as a key component of his strategy for the upcoming 2024/25 season.

Al Ittihad, meanwhile, is eager to secure a strong winger before the window closes, leaving some to speculate whether they will return with a higher bid to test Arsenal’s resolve.

Considering that Trossard will turn 30 in December, it raises the question of whether Arsenal might find a large fee appealing for a player approaching the latter part of his career.

Kaya Kaynak, the Chief Arsenal Correspondent, has weighed in on the matter, asserting that Arsenal should definitely hold on to Trossard.

While the club may have considered the idea of a transfer given his age and the substantial fee, Arsenal’s recent moves in the market, such as their interest in high-caliber players like Raheem Sterling and Mikel Merino, indicate their ambition to build a squad capable of competing for titles now.

For Kaynak, Trossard’s role within this title-contending setup is irreplaceable.

One of Trossard’s unique strengths is his effectiveness both as a starter and as an impact substitute, a valuable trait that has often defined championship-winning teams.

Trossard possesses the ability to come off the bench and completely change the course of a game—a crucial asset when a team is struggling to break through a tough opponent’s defense.

His versatility is another key factor, as he can excel in multiple roles across the attacking line, making him a flexible option for Arteta when adjusting tactics or dealing with injuries.

Furthermore, Trossard’s consistent fitness and availability make him even more valuable in the long grind of a competitive season.

All things considered, Trossard is more than just an asset to be cashed in on due to his age.

His game-changing abilities, versatility, and reliability make him an essential part of Arsenal’s current squad, and selling him now could prove detrimental to their title aspirations.

As Arsenal eyes success in the Premier League and beyond, Trossard’s influence will likely be crucial in helping them reach their goals this season.

Manchester United are on the brink of completing their first major signing of the summer, closing in on a deal to bring Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Matheus Cunha to Old Trafford. The Red Devils have reportedly agreed personal terms with the Brazilian attacker, who emerged as one of the standout performers in the Premier League last season. United are now expected to activate the £62.5 million release clause in Cunha’s contract, setting the stage for the transfer to be finalized by the end of next week. Sources close to the negotiations suggest that the deal is moving swiftly, and unless any unexpected setbacks arise, Cunha will become a Manchester United player very soon. This move marks a significant step for newly appointed manager Ruben Amorim, who is eager to revamp the squad after a frustrating 2024/25 season. United finished outside the top four and scored only 42 goals in the league, highlighting a glaring need for attacking reinforcements. Cunha, 25, has been a consistent performer for Wolves, known for his explosive pace, creativity, and clinical finishing. He recorded double-digit goals and assists last season, despite playing in a side that often struggled with form. What makes him particularly attractive to United is his ability to play across the front line — as a central striker, second forward, or winger. This versatility fits well into Amorim’s tactical system, which relies heavily on fluid movement, high pressing, and adaptable forward players. Bringing Cunha into the fold is also expected to benefit players like Rasmus Højlund, who showed promise last season but lacked consistent support in the final third. With Cunha’s inclusion, the attacking workload can be more evenly distributed, potentially allowing United to become more dangerous and dynamic up front. Cunha is reportedly excited about the opportunity and sees the move to Old Trafford as a major step forward in his career. The chance to play European football at a higher level, possibly in the Champions League in the near future, is said to have played a big role in his decision. However, United must still navigate financial challenges, as the club remains under the watchful eye of Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR). To make room for Cunha and other potential signings, the club may need to sell some high-salary players. Marcus Rashford, currently on loan at Aston Villa, and Antony, who is enjoying a resurgence at Real Betis, are both candidates for permanent exits this summer. Despite the price tag, United’s board considers the deal to be a strategic investment. Cunha’s age, Premier League experience, and technical ability make him a long-term asset with high potential returns. Fans have welcomed the news with enthusiasm, with many already imagining new attacking lineups featuring Cunha, Højlund, and Garnacho. This transfer also underlines Amorim’s growing influence at the club. Given considerable input into recruitment decisions, the Portuguese manager personally identified Cunha as a key target to shape the new era at Manchester United.
