BREAKING NEWS: Mikel Arteta reveals the Arsenal player set to receive increased playing time following the Carabao Cup quarter-final win against Crystal Palace

In a dramatic Carabao Cup quarter-final clash, Arsenal staged an impressive comeback to defeat Crystal Palace 3-2, advancing to the semi-finals.

The star of the night was Gabriel Jesus, whose hat-trick turned the tide in Arsenal’s favor after they trailed 1-0 in the first half.

Following the victory, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta confirmed that Jesus would see increased playing time as the season progresses, highlighting his pivotal role in the team’s success.

The match began unfavorably for Arsenal when Jean-Philippe Mateta put Crystal Palace ahead in the opening half.

However, Arteta’s side showed great determination in the second half, with Gabriel Jesus leading the charge.

His hat-trick not only helped secure the win but also marked a significant turning point for the Brazilian forward, who had been struggling with his form.

Prior to this match, Jesus had failed to score multiple goals in any of his last 33 appearances across all competitions, making his performance against Palace a much-needed confidence boost.

Jesus’ first goal came early in the second half, courtesy of a perfectly timed assist from substitute Martin Ødegaard.

The Brazilian displayed composure as he skillfully evaded Marc Guéhi and chipped the ball over Dean Henderson to equalize.

His second goal followed shortly after, with Bukayo Saka, another substitute, setting him up for a quick turn and a powerful finish into the far corner.

The hat-trick was sealed in the 69th minute when Jesus broke free from his marker and calmly slotted the ball past Henderson, sending the Emirates Stadium into wild celebrations.

Arteta was full of praise for Jesus’ performance, describing his goals as “fantastic” and emphasizing their significance in rebuilding the striker’s confidence.

“This could be a turning point for him and the team,” Arteta said post-match.

He also stressed the importance of consistency and confirmed plans to give Jesus more opportunities in upcoming games to maintain his momentum.

Beyond Jesus’ heroics, the match featured other standout contributions.

Left-back Kieran Tierney made his first start in 548 days, delivering a solid performance that added depth to Arsenal’s lineup.

However, the game wasn’t without its tense moments, as former Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah, now with Crystal Palace, scored a late goal to make it 3-2.

Despite the pressure, Arsenal held on for the win.

This victory was crucial for Arsenal, not only in their Carabao Cup ambitions but also as a confidence booster.

They now turn their attention to the Premier League, where they face Crystal Palace again in a London derby at Selhurst Park.

With Gabriel Jesus finding his form and Arteta placing renewed faith in him, Arsenal’s attack looks increasingly dangerous.

If Jesus continues performing at this level, he could become a central figure in Arsenal’s pursuit of domestic and European success.
