Despite these speculations, former Chelsea defender William Gallas has voiced his opinion on the matter, cautioning Chelsea against pursuing a deal for Salah if he becomes available on a free transfer.
Speaking to Prime Casino, Gallas emphasized that while Salah has been a standout performer in the Premier League, his potential signing could disrupt the harmony within Chelsea’s current squad.
According to Gallas, the addition of Salah could upset the balance of the team, especially given the current chemistry the squad has built. He also warned that bringing in a player of Salah’s caliber could inadvertently strengthen a direct rival, given the competitive nature of the Premier League.
Salah’s career at Liverpool has been nothing short of exceptional. Since joining the club in 2017, he has scored an impressive 227 goals, establishing himself as one of the league’s most prolific forwards.
However, his time at Chelsea was far less memorable. After joining the Blues in 2014, Salah struggled to make an impact, managing only 19 appearances before being sold to AS Roma in 2016.
It was at Roma where Salah rediscovered his form, eventually earning a move to Liverpool, where he became one of the top players in the world.
