The Premier League issued two statements addressing VAR decisions following the intense 1-1 draw between Arsenal and Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday.
The statements came in response to criticism from Arsenal fans regarding key refereeing calls during the game.
Arsenal entered the match aiming to close the gap on Liverpool to just four points, as Liverpool’s Merseyside derby against Everton had been postponed due to extreme weather conditions.

Their efforts paid off in the 52nd minute when William Saliba found the back of the net from close range.
The goal was subjected to a VAR review to check for a possible offside, but it was upheld.
The Premier League later elaborated on the decision via a social media post, stating: “The referee’s call of goal was checked and confirmed by the VAR as Saliba was in an onside position.”
Arsenal seemed to gain momentum, dominating possession and creating chances.
Their persistence almost earned them a late winner when Bukayo Saka headed in a cross from Gabriel Martinelli.
However, celebrations were cut short as VAR intervened again, this time ruling that Martinelli was marginally offside in the build-up.
The Premier League clarified the decision in another statement, saying: “Saka’s goal was initially awarded on-field.
VAR checked and determined that Martinelli was in an offside position in the build-up and recommended that the goal be disallowed.”
The draw leaves Arsenal six points behind Liverpool in the title race.
Liverpool, who have a game in hand, could potentially extend their lead to nine points if they win their rescheduled fixture.
The result was a setback for Arsenal, who had hoped to maintain pressure on the league leaders.
While Arsenal fans voiced their frustration over the VAR decisions, the statements from the Premier League aimed to provide transparency regarding the controversial calls.
