Manchester United fan and YouTube personality Mark Goldbridge has voiced his opinion on a potential transfer target for the club if Alejandro Garnacho leaves.
The 20-year-old Argentine winger has been linked with possible moves to both Chelsea and Napoli.
This marks a surprising turn of events, as Garnacho was previously regarded as “untouchable” under former manager Erik ten Hag and seen as a key part of his tactical plans.
However, circumstances have changed since Ruben Amorim took over as United’s head coach in November 2024.
Notably, Amorim excluded Garnacho from the squad for United’s 2-1 victory over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on December 15.
Although the Portuguese coach later commended Garnacho’s attitude and response, the young winger has found himself spending more time on the bench in recent months.
Transfer speculation surrounding Garnacho intensified further on Monday after reports surfaced that his agent attended Chelsea’s 3-1 win against Wolves at Stamford Bridge.
Meanwhile, Italian media outlet Il Mattino claimed that Garnacho has already reached an agreement to join Napoli.
Amid this uncertainty, Mark Goldbridge—real name Brent Di Cesare—suggested a potential replacement for the young winger.
The United Stand host and passionate Manchester United supporter took to X (formerly known as Twitter) on Tuesday morning to advocate for Wolves forward Matheus Cunha as a suitable signing for the club.
“Man Utd need to be all over this Cunha deal,” Goldbridge posted.
Cunha, 25, has been a standout performer in a Wolves side that has struggled at times this season.
The Brazilian forward has contributed ten goals and four assists in 22 appearances, making him one of the team’s most consistent attacking threats.
Following Wolves’ recent 3-1 defeat to Chelsea, the club’s manager, Vitor Pereira, criticized his players for their lack of determination, stating, “I don’t like this body language.
I want someone, as a captain, trying to help the team – running, suffering, and fighting all together.”
Cunha is currently valued at €50 million (£42 million) according to Transfermarkt, and his contract with Wolves runs until June 2027.
However, Manchester United may face competition for his signature, as both Liverpool and Arsenal have reportedly shown interest in the forward.
If United decides to make a move for him, it could spark a bidding war with their Premier League rivals.
With Garnacho’s future at Old Trafford uncertain and top clubs monitoring Cunha, United’s transfer plans could take an interesting turn in the coming weeks.
