BREAKING NEWS: Troubling updates for Chelsea fans as reports reveal that the club and Joao Felix have reached a concerning agreement about his future

    BBy B25 January 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

Chelsea is not expected to make significant moves in the upcoming January transfer window.

Instead, the club’s primary focus will be on offloading players who are not part of Enzo Maresca’s main plans.

While transfer rumors will likely swirl, a major overhaul is not anticipated, much like last January when Chelsea refrained from heavy spending following a substantial summer outlay.

The club remains open to opportunities, particularly if injuries create gaps in the squad. With key defenders and midfielders sidelined, Maresca has had to rely heavily on his core group of players.

Despite Chelsea’s depth, the absence of European football until March could challenge the manager’s ability to maintain squad balance and performance levels.

    Joao Felix’s Future

Joao Felix’s situation at Chelsea has been clarified, with both parties agreeing to revisit his future at the end of the season rather than during January.

After a challenging return to London, the focus is on allowing Felix to complete his first full season with the team before making any long-term decisions.

Since his £45 million transfer from Atletico Madrid in August, Felix has struggled to find form, scoring only once in the Premier League and playing under 500 minutes.

Although he has had a more prominent role in the Conference League, these appearances have come in less demanding fixtures.

Despite his underwhelming impact, Felix is expected to stay at Chelsea until the summer, with no immediate plans for a transfer.

The club appears interested in continuing their partnership with him, and the player has shown no intention of forcing a move.

Selling Felix so soon after his high-profile arrival could have significant PR implications, especially after the backlash over the deal.

While some argue Felix hasn’t been given enough chances, his limited opportunities have been underwhelming.

A recent performance against Ipswich Town highlighted some concerns, as he failed to make an impact despite starting the match.

    Axel Disasi’s Status

Chelsea has no urgent plans to sell Axel Disasi during the January window but remains open to offers if they meet the club’s valuation.

Unlike other players such as Ben Chilwell and Carney Chukwuemeka, Disasi is not under pressure to leave.

However, his struggles to adapt under Maresca, combined with the emergence of young talent Josh Acheampong, have raised questions about his future.

Signed for £39 million last season, Disasi has struggled to meet expectations.

Interest from an unnamed Premier League club and previous links to Newcastle United suggest a move could still be on the table.

With Wesley Fofana’s return date uncertain, Disasi has been called upon more frequently, but his performances have not been convincing.

Josh Acheampong’s potential to offer more agility and dynamism could further limit Disasi’s opportunities.

Chelsea may consider moving him on if the right offer comes in, as his contributions have not aligned with the team’s needs.

In summary, Chelsea’s January plans will likely focus on streamlining the squad rather than making bold acquisitions, while players like Felix and Disasi remain under close watch as the club evaluates their long-term futures.
