Manchester United’s captain reveals the key reasons behind their defeat to Fulham, confirming what 80% of United fans had already expected

Manchester United’s captain did not hide his frustration following the team’s unexpected 2-1 defeat to Fulham at Old Trafford. Clearly upset by the result, he refused to take responsibility for the loss, insisting that he had given his best on the pitch. Instead, he pointed fingers at a specific teammate, whom he accused of reacting too slowly, ultimately contributing to Fulham’s opening goal.

According to the captain, this player’s sluggish response was a major factor in the team’s struggles, and he also criticized his overall performances in both training sessions and matches. His candid remarks reflected the growing discontent among supporters, many of whom have expressed concerns about the team’s recent displays and certain players’ lackluster performances.

For Manchester United fans, the match was a rollercoaster of emotions. The deadlock was broken in the 65th minute when a defensive error allowed Fulham to take the lead, putting the home side under immense pressure. United fought hard to find an equalizer and seemed to have rescued a point with a dramatic goal in the 89th minute.

However, their determination to secure a late winner proved costly. In stoppage time, United’s defensive frailties were exposed once again, as Alex Iwobi took advantage of their disorganization to score the decisive goal. His strike sealed a shocking victory for Fulham, leaving United with nothing to show for their late efforts.

After the game, the captain reflected on the team’s tactical approach, admitting that their eagerness to push forward may have backfired. He acknowledged that they might have been too aggressive in the final moments and suggested that a more controlled strategy could have helped them avoid conceding the late goal. According to him, throwing too many players forward in search of a winner left the team vulnerable at the back, allowing Fulham to exploit the space and punish them.

This latest outburst is yet another sign of growing unrest within the Manchester United squad. Defender Lisandro Martinez has also expressed dissatisfaction, specifically criticizing the team’s overreliance on long balls to forwards Rasmus H.
