BREAKING NEWS: Chelsea icon John Terry has slammed two current players for what he described as a shocking display in today’s match

Chelsea fans were left furious following a frustrating 2-2 draw against Championship side Ipswich Town, a match many expected the Blues to win comfortably.

The result, however, not only disappointed supporters but also drew strong criticism from a club legend.

Former captain John Terry, known for his leadership, grit, and loyalty during his playing days at Stamford Bridge, didn’t hold back in his post-match reaction, publicly slamming two current Chelsea defenders for their “unacceptable” display.

Speaking on Premier League Tonight, Terry gave a scathing review of the game, expressing his disbelief at the level of performance he witnessed.

“I watched the full 90 minutes of the Ipswich versus Chelsea match, and it was nothing short of embarrassing,” he said.

“There are two players in particular who have no business being at Chelsea based on that performance.”

The game took place at a lively Portman Road, where Ipswich, despite being underdogs, showed determination and grit.

While Chelsea found the net through Mykhailo Mudryk and Nicolas Jackson, their defensive vulnerabilities were once again on full display, allowing Ipswich to battle back and secure a draw.

It was a result that underscored Chelsea’s ongoing issues with consistency and defensive solidity under Mauricio Pochettino.

Although Terry initially held back on naming names, he later pinpointed Marc Cucurella and Axel Disasi as the primary culprits.

He criticized the duo for what he described as shocking decision-making, poor positioning, and a complete lack of leadership during key moments in the game.

“Cucurella was a mess,” Terry continued. “He was often caught out of position, didn’t close down attackers, and failed to track back effectively.

For a player who cost the club over £60 million, that’s simply inexcusable.”

Turning his attention to Disasi, Terry didn’t pull any punches either.

“Disasi played like a defender from Sunday League football.

He was slow to read the game, lacked communication, and contributed directly to both goals we conceded.

That kind of defending is not what Chelsea is about.”

Terry’s comments resonated with many fans online, who had already been venting their frustration over recent performances.

On X (formerly Twitter), hashtags such as #CucurellaOut and #DisasiDisaster began trending, as supporters questioned the club’s recruitment strategy and the commitment of certain players.

One fan wrote, “Terry’s just saying what every Chelsea fan already knows.

This team lacks real leaders and is filled with players who don’t look like they care.”

Others urged manager Mauricio Pochettino to make immediate changes to avoid further slip-ups that could jeopardize Chelsea’s hopes of finishing in the top four.

In his own post-match comments, Pochettino acknowledged the poor result, stating, “This isn’t good enough,” but refrained from singling out any individuals.

He hinted at potential changes in the coming weeks but emphasized that the issues were collective, not just personal.

Still, with Chelsea legend John Terry publicly calling out underperforming players and fan discontent growing louder, the pressure is mounting at Stamford Bridge.

If improvements aren’t made quickly, Pochettino may have no choice but to take drastic steps — and for some players, their time at the club could be nearing its end.

One thing is clear: neither the fans nor their former captain are willing to accept mediocrity any longer.
