“HERE WE GO ✅ Man United accept bid as striker completes medical to join Arsenal this summer!”

Manchester United are ramping up their search for a new striker ahead of the summer transfer window, with Brighton’s Joao Pedro now emerging as a key target.

Following a disappointing season in which United struggled heavily in front of goal, drastic changes are expected—particularly in the attacking department.

The club is on track to record their worst-ever Premier League finish, and with goalscoring being the most glaring issue, reinforcements are a top priority for new manager Ruben Amorim and the Ineos-backed recruitment team.

One of the biggest developments involves Rasmus Hojlund. The Danish forward, who was once viewed as a promising long-term option, is now likely to be sold in the summer.

Reports indicate that Hojlund himself is open to a move, having come to terms with the fact that his future may lie away from Old Trafford. As a result, Manchester United are actively working to bolster their forward line, with the arrival of Matheus Cunha from Wolves already close to being finalized.

However, Amorim reportedly wants to add both a striker and an attacking midfielder before the window closes.

Among the names being considered is Liam Delap, whose goal-scoring record and Premier League experience have made him a favorite of United’s new technical director Jason Wilcox. Another name on the shortlist is Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta.

But now, attention is turning to Brighton’s Joao Pedro, a versatile Brazilian forward who has quietly had an impressive campaign.

According to Sky Sports’ Rob Dorsett, Pedro has not only caught the eye of Manchester United but is also being monitored by Chelsea and Liverpool. Despite the interest, Brighton have yet to receive any official offers.

It’s believed that the Seagulls would be willing to sell if a bid in the region of £50 million is made.

Pedro scored 10 goals and provided 6 assists this season in the league, and his well-rounded attacking skill set has drawn widespread praise.

Alan Shearer, for example, lauded Pedro’s instinctive positioning and ability to link play, especially praising his awareness and follow-up play in the box. What makes Pedro particularly appealing for Amorim is his elite ball-carrying ability.

Statistically, he ranks in the 97th percentile for progressive carries and also excels in progressive passing and successful take-ons—areas where United have been lacking.

Moreover, Pedro’s versatility adds another layer of value. He is capable of playing as a central striker or operating in a deeper number 10 role, offering Amorim multiple tactical options.

With United seeking more flexible, technically gifted players who can fit into a high-tempo pressing system, Pedro appears to tick several boxes.

His age and potential for development also align well with Ineos’ vision of building a younger, more dynamic squad for the future.
