🚨 LIVE UPDATE: Fabrizio Romano Confirms Manchester United Conducting Medical for £100m Striker – Deal Structured to Allow More Signings

Manchester United’s transfer window is quickly gaining momentum as Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that the club is in the final stages of completing a sensational deal for a striker worth £100 million.

The medical examinations for the player are currently ongoing, signaling that the transfer is all but complete.

Importantly, the structure of the deal has been carefully designed to allow the payment to be made in installments.

This flexible payment plan will free up financial room for United to continue strengthening their squad with at least two additional signings this summer.

Incoming manager Rúben Amorim is reportedly very pleased with this major signing, viewing the new striker as a cornerstone piece to boost the team’s attacking capabilities significantly.

This move comes as United look to turn the page after an underwhelming 2024/25 season, which saw them struggle for consistency and firepower upfront.

While the identity of the striker has not been officially disclosed yet, several names strongly fit the profile of this major acquisition.

Among the leading candidates are Joshua Zirkzee, who has been heavily linked to Old Trafford with a widely reported €40 million release clause.

Another serious possibility is Victor Osimhen, a long-standing target for United, who carries a £109 million release clause at Napoli.

Napoli has shown openness to creative negotiations, including player-plus-cash deals, which could help facilitate his move.

Additionally, Juventus forward Dusan Vlahović remains a player of interest, especially since Juventus are actively looking to offload him this summer.

More concrete details are expected to surface shortly as the club prepares to make an official announcement.

While United’s focus remains on revamping their forward line, they have also been presented with the opportunity to bolster their defense.

TBR Football reports that Bayern Munich have offered South Korean center-back Kim Min-jae to United.

The defender, who was signed by Bayern for around £51 million from Napoli just last year, could become surplus to requirements following Bayern’s acquisition of Jonathan Tah.

Despite having performed well under Vincent Kompany, Kim’s future at the Allianz Arena is now uncertain, and several Premier League clubs — including Manchester City, Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool, and Newcastle — have been informed of his availability.

However, Manchester United may not prioritize Kim Min-jae’s signing at this stage.

With Rúben Amorim favoring a tactical system that relies on three central defenders, United already possess significant depth in that department.

Players like Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez, Matthijs de Ligt, Leny Yoro, Ayden Heaven, and Noussair Mazraoui offer a wealth of options for Amorim to build his defense.

As such, unless there is a significant departure — such as Maguire leaving — the pursuit of Kim Min-jae may not move forward.

Financially, the prospect of paying another £50 million or more for a defender does not currently align with United’s summer priorities.

The club is more focused on addressing positions that lack sufficient depth and quality, particularly in attack and midfield.

Thus far, Manchester United’s transfer strategy under Amorim has seen decisive action.

They have already completed the £62.5 million signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Now, with a £100 million striker undergoing medical checks and installment payments allowing for additional signings, the club remains highly active in the transfer market.

Several other targets remain on United’s radar as they continue to reshape the squad for the upcoming season.

The coming weeks promise to bring more transfer drama as United’s ambitious rebuild continues to unfold under their new leadership.
