Man United finally sign new striker as Mbeumo agreement reached, Gyokeres arrival next, Chelsea demand Garnacho plus £60m for their star player

Manchester United have officially completed the signing of their long-awaited striker, with the new goal machine penning a five-year deal with the club — fantastic news for United fans celebrating this key transfer.

Meanwhile, further reports reveal that Manchester United have now turned their attention towards strengthening the goalkeeper position, as they continue an ambitious summer transfer window.

According to reports from Diario Olé (via UtdXclusive), Manchester United have formally contacted Aston Villa to inquire about the availability of World Cup-winning goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.

The Red Devils are determined to bolster their squad ahead of the new season, but they are still weighing their options regarding the goalkeeper situation.

There is an internal debate at Old Trafford: should they pursue a new first-choice goalkeeper to replace the inconsistent Andre Onana, or should they bring in a reliable backup to take over from current understudy Altay Bayındır, who has not fully convinced the coaching staff?

Interest in Emiliano Martinez has intensified in recent weeks. The Argentine star, who won the Golden Glove at the 2022 World Cup, had an emotional moment with Aston Villa fans at the end of last season — a moment that many interpreted as a possible farewell.

Though this was later denied by his wife, fresh reports suggest that Martinez himself is now open to joining Manchester United.

Encouraged by this development, INEOS, who are leading United’s recruitment efforts, have moved quickly to open discussions with Aston Villa.

United’s enquiry comes at a time when Martinez’s future remains in Villa’s hands.

The goalkeeper recently signed a new contract that runs until June 2029, meaning the club is under no immediate pressure to sell.

This long-term deal gives Aston Villa significant leverage and they are expected to demand a hefty transfer fee should Manchester United push for a move.

As it stands, there is no formal agreement between the two clubs.

United’s management are still considering whether replacing Onana — despite his errors — is the right move, or whether Martinez would instead arrive as a high-quality backup.

Many supporters feel that adding a proven and experienced goalkeeper like Martinez would restore confidence at the back.

The coming weeks will reveal whether United will meet Villa’s demands and pursue Martinez as a priority signing.

For now, contact has been made, and United’s transfer activity remains in full swing under INEOS’s leadership.
