DONE DEAL: Manchester United have secured their dream signing as a top-class striker officially joins the club on a five-year contract — massive congratulations to all United fans!

Meanwhile, the club is not slowing down in the market, as reports now suggest Manchester United have made official contact with Aston Villa over the possible signing of goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.

It’s no secret that the Red Devils are looking to strengthen their goalkeeping department this summer.

While there is still debate internally about whether they need to bring in a brand-new first-choice goalkeeper to replace the error-prone Andre Onana, or simply sign an experienced backup to compete with Altay Bayındır, United are clearly exploring their options.

For several weeks now, Emiliano Martinez has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford.

The World Cup winner appeared emotional after Villa’s last home game of the season, which sparked speculation of an impending exit, although his wife later denied those claims.

However, over the past 24 hours, new reports have emerged that Martinez himself is keen on the move and has expressed his desire to join Manchester United — prompting Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS-led management to open discussions with Villa.

According to Diario Olé (via UtdXclusive), Manchester United have now made an “official” enquiry to Aston Villa to understand the conditions of a potential transfer for Martinez.

However, this deal may not be easy to pull off. The Argentine shot-stopper only signed a contract extension with Aston Villa earlier this season and is tied to the club until June 2029.

This means Villa are in a strong position to demand a hefty fee for any potential sale.

The big question now is whether United would be prepared to pay a premium fee for a 32-year-old goalkeeper — even one as talented and experienced as Martinez, who has been praised as “the best in the world” by none other than Lionel Messi.

It should also be noted that while Martinez is interested in the move, there is no formal agreement yet between the clubs.

United have simply made first contact and are evaluating whether to proceed with an official bid.

Currently, the club’s stance on Andre Onana remains unclear.

While Onana made several costly mistakes during his debut season, the Red Devils are reportedly not in a hurry to sell or replace him just yet.

Many fans, however, would welcome the arrival of an elite goalkeeper like Martinez, who would bring leadership, composure, and world-class penalty-saving skills to the side.
