MAN UNITED’S LATEST SIGNING Pure joy in the City of Old Trafford as United HIJACK Chelsea and Man City’s top target!

Manchester United appear to be edging closer to securing the services of highly-rated French striker Hugo Ekitike, following promising signals from the player’s representatives.

Although no formal agreement has been reached with Eintracht Frankfurt, sources indicate that the player’s entourage now believes the German club will ultimately reduce their firm £85 million asking price, opening the door for United to step up their interest.

Ekitike, who is just 22 years old, has become a primary target for United manager Ruben Amorim as he seeks to strengthen his attacking options.

This comes after the club failed to land Liam Delap and has encountered delays in the pursuit of Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres. Ekitike’s impressive performances in the Bundesliga last season have caught the attention of Europe’s elite clubs.

In 48 appearances for Frankfurt, the Frenchman netted 22 goals and assisted 12 more, showcasing not only his productivity in front of goal but also his well-rounded ability on the pitch.

Standing at nearly 6 feet 3 inches, Ekitike combines physical presence with agility and sharp football intelligence.

He can link play effectively by dropping into deeper positions, while also using his surprising pace to threaten in behind defenders.

His spatial awareness and technical ability make him a complete modern striker, drawing comparisons to Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, who has thrived in the Premier League since his big-money move from Spain.

Ekitike’s growing reputation has attracted interest from several major English clubs. Liverpool and Chelsea have already made inquiries, while Newcastle and Arsenal have also been linked with potential moves.

However, Manchester United are reportedly the only club that has gone beyond preliminary interest by opening direct dialogue with Frankfurt.

That said, the German club has so far held firm on their €100 million (£85 million) valuation, especially after selling Omar Marmoush to Manchester City earlier this year.

United’s finances may not support such a high expenditure at this stage, especially after already committing £62.5 million to sign Matheus Cunha.

The club is also actively negotiating for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, who is expected to command a similarly hefty fee.

Another large outlay for a striker could be unrealistic unless significant player sales are made to balance the budget.

Nevertheless, there is optimism at Old Trafford following claims from TBR Football that Ekitike’s camp is now suggesting a deal could be done for less than Frankfurt’s initial demand.

Importantly, Ekitike is believed to be enthusiastic about a move to England, with Manchester United being his preferred destination due to his childhood admiration for the club.

While official club-to-club negotiations are yet to begin, United may now look to move quickly to finalize terms before rival clubs intensify their efforts.

If Frankfurt’s valuation softens, Ekitike could soon be on his way to Old Trafford, offering the Red Devils a dynamic young forward with the potential to become a Premier League star.
