Manchester United complete the signing of PSG’s 20-year-old sensation, with the player currently undergoing his medical ahead of joining the Reds.

Manchester United are reportedly exploring the possibility of a surprise move for AC Milan’s highly-rated winger Rafael Leão, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes.

Following a frustrating campaign last season where the team struggled to find consistent attacking output, the Red Devils are determined to bolster their offensive options this summer.

After securing the signature of Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers in a £62.5 million deal, attention has now shifted to other attacking targets — most notably Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, who is valued at a similar figure.

However, in a bid to strengthen further, United have now set their sights on Leão, one of the standout players in Serie A over the past few seasons.

The Portuguese forward has caught the eye with his pace, creativity, and goal-scoring ability, and is being viewed as a serious option for United as they look to retool their front line.

With potential exits looming for several current attackers — including Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony, and possibly Alejandro Garnacho — the need for reinforcements out wide has grown urgent.

Leão’s name has now emerged prominently on United’s radar as a possible solution.

But United won’t be the only ones pursuing the 25-year-old. German giants Bayern Munich are also believed to be monitoring the situation closely, especially with Leroy

Sané’s future at the Allianz Arena remaining uncertain. Leão still has three years left on his current deal with Milan, but the Italian side are reportedly open to negotiations.

Though they initially valued him at around £84 million, reports indicate that the player’s desire for a fresh challenge after a turbulent season could see them accept a lower fee — potentially in the range of £59 million.

Despite experiencing a slight dip in form last season, Leão still contributed 12 goals and 11 assists across 50 matches, underlining his consistency and overall impact on the pitch.

He played a crucial role in Milan’s Serie A title win during the 2021/22 campaign and was instrumental in their recent Supercoppa Italiana triumph.

His blend of athleticism, flair, and versatility would offer Manchester United a dynamic option capable of operating on either flank or through the middle.

That said, some critics argue that if United do manage to finalize a deal for Mbeumo, pursuing another wide attacker like Leão may not be necessary.

With other positions — particularly central striker and midfield — also in need of reinforcement, it remains to be seen whether manager Rúben Amorim and the club hierarchy will prioritize Leão or choose to strengthen more urgent areas instead.
