Manchester United have officially completed the signing of Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers, making him the club’s first arrival of the summer transfer window.
The 26-year-old attacker joins under new manager Rúben Amorim, who personally approved the move as part of his plan to rebuild the Red Devils’ front line.
Cunha had a standout season at Wolves, where he scored 15 Premier League goals and provided six assists.

The club released a statement on its website confirming the deal, stating they had “reached an agreement with Wolverhampton Wanderers for the signing of Matheus Cunha,” pending standard visa and registration procedures.
These final steps are considered formalities, and Cunha is expected to complete his medical in London within the next 24 to 48 hours.
Cunha’s arrival addresses a glaring need at United. None of the club’s attackers reached double digits in league goals last season, and the forward duo of Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee managed just seven Premier League goals combined.
In contrast, Cunha alone contributed to 21 goals, offering an immediate upgrade and solution to United’s attacking woes.
Manager Rúben Amorim sees Cunha as an essential piece of his tactical puzzle.
His flexibility to play as a striker, second forward, or even a wide attacker fits perfectly into the high-pressing, fluid system Amorim is looking to implement at Old Trafford.
