Manchester United’s aggressive approach in the summer transfer window clearly signals a strong intent to overhaul their attack.
Following a frustrating 2024/25 season in front of goal, the club’s hierarchy is determined to equip new manager Ruben Amorim with the firepower needed to transform the Red Devils into genuine contenders again.
The first major step in this revamp was the high-profile signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves for a hefty £62.5 million.
Cunha arrives with strong Premier League credentials, having scored 15 goals last season. However, United are not stopping there.
Another top target, Bryan Mbeumo, also had an outstanding season with 20 goals for Brentford, showcasing his ability to lead the line or drift wide.
His creativity was just as impressive, as he contributed 17 big chances created, especially from the right flank. United are keen to integrate Mbeumo into a more versatile front line that thrives on both finishing and creating.
Despite these marquee names, United still struggled last season, especially in the striker role. Rasmus Hojlund, the club’s leading centre-forward, managed just four Premier League goals, despite being handed numerous opportunities.
With over six big chances missed, it’s clear why the club is desperate for an upgrade in that department.
According to Stretty News, Manchester United have now been offered the opportunity to sign Moise Kean, the Italian forward who previously had an underwhelming stint at Everton.
While his time in England was forgettable—scoring only four goals in 39 appearances—Kean has since rebuilt his reputation in Serie A. Playing for Fiorentina, he netted 19 league goals last season and ended the campaign with 25 in all competitions, making him one of Italy’s most in-form forwards.
Kean is reportedly available for around £44 million, and discussions have already taken place between United officials and the player’s representatives.
While the deal isn’t finalized, the decision ultimately lies with Amorim, who will evaluate whether Kean fits into his tactical plans alongside Cunha and Mbeumo.
Should he approve the move, Kean could become United’s focal point in attack, with Mbeumo potentially shifting to the right wing to fully utilize his creative flair.
The combination of Kean’s finishing ability and Mbeumo’s vision could prove devastating in the Premier League.
Interestingly, Thomas Tuchel once described Kean as “fearless” during their time at PSG, and that confidence may be key if he returns to England to take on the pressure of leading Manchester United’s frontline.
