Victor Osimhen signs contract with Manchester United

    abBy ab11 June 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

There is currently no official confirmation that Victor Osimhen has signed a contract with Manchester United, despite some circulating reports suggesting otherwise.

Neither the player himself, Manchester United, nor highly reliable sources such as Fabrizio Romano have announced any finalized agreement between Osimhen and the club. The current situation is far more complex and remains very much in flux.

At present, Manchester United do indeed hold a genuine interest in acquiring Victor Osimhen, who is widely regarded as one of the most talented strikers in world football.

However, according to trusted journalist Fabrizio Romano, while United’s admiration for Osimhen is very real, there have been no concrete negotiations or advanced talks initiated as of now.

United’s focus remains on reshaping their squad under new manager Ruben Amorim, and Osimhen is one of the names that has surfaced as a potential marquee addition, but no official moves have been made to secure his signature yet.

Several reports confirm that Osimhen is still officially a Napoli player, though he is temporarily on loan at Galatasaray.

Napoli are indeed open to selling their star striker, but any deal would need to meet their valuation.

As of June 1st, Osimhen’s release clause has reportedly dropped to approximately €75–80 million, making him more financially accessible than in previous transfer windows.

However, even with this reduced transfer fee, his salary expectations remain a significant stumbling block.

Osimhen currently earns around €12 million net per season at Napoli, which translates to roughly £200,000 per week.

This high salary poses a major challenge for Manchester United, particularly given the restrictions imposed by Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations.

For United to finalize a transfer, Osimhen would likely need to accept a lower wage package, something that has yet to be agreed upon.

Otherwise, Saudi Arabian clubs, who can comfortably meet both the transfer fee and salary demands, remain strong competitors for his signature.

While some less credible outlets, such as The Sun, have speculated that Manchester United have secured Osimhen for a so-called “bargain price” of £25–30 million, these reports are widely regarded as unsubstantiated and lack verification from reputable sources.

The reality remains that no formal deal has been struck, and Manchester United have yet to activate any clauses or finalize any contractual agreements with Osimhen.

In summary, though Manchester United are seriously interested in bringing Victor Osimhen to Old Trafford as part of Amorim’s rebuilding project, the deal is far from complete.

Key obstacles, primarily revolving around the financial terms of both the transfer fee and Osimhen’s salary, still need to be resolved before any potential agreement can be reached.

For now, fans will have to remain patient as negotiations continue behind the scenes, with both the club’s ambitions and the complexities of the transfer market dictating the next steps.

If the situation evolves, official sources such as Fabrizio Romano will be among the first to provide accurate and confirmed updates.
