BREAKING: Benjamin Šeško emerges as a KEY TARGET for Manchester United

Manchester United have intensified their efforts to sign Benjamin Šeško, firmly placing the RB Leipzig forward on their shortlist as a long-term solution for the number nine role.

This move reflects the club’s commitment to bolstering their attacking options, but it comes with significant financial and strategic challenges.

United have monitored Šeško for years, beginning during his impressive rise at Red Bull Salzburg. Their scouting reports consistently highlight his blend of physicality, technique, and goal-scoring instinct—qualities that make him ideally suited for Premier League football.

At 6’5”, Šeško offers a rare combination of aerial dominance and technical skill. His agility, movement off the ball, and calm finishing have drawn praise from coaches and scouts alike.

For a player of his stature, his touch and fluidity are standout traits, and at just 21 years old, he fits perfectly into Manchester United’s long-term vision alongside fellow young striker Rasmus Højlund.

Crucially, Šeško is open to the move. Sources close to the player suggest he views the Premier League—and specifically Old Trafford—as his dream destination.

His representatives are fully aware of United’s interest, and there is a clear desire from the player’s side to take the next step in his career.

However, RB Leipzig are reluctant to part ways with their star striker for anything less than €90 million, which includes both fixed fees and performance-based incentives.

Leipzig see Šeško as central to their project, and with his contract running until 2028, they hold a strong negotiating position.

The major obstacle for United is financial. After significant spending in recent transfer windows and the looming constraints of Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations, United must prioritize player sales before committing to such a high-profile deal.

John Murtough and Dan Ashworth are tasked with generating the funds needed to pursue Šeško without breaching FFP limits.

Several players are reportedly up for sale to facilitate the move. Jadon Sancho is one likely departure, with Juventus and Borussia Dortmund interested, though negotiations have stalled.

Marcus Rashford, following a poor season, has attracted attention from PSG and Saudi clubs, but his high wages complicate a potential transfer. Antony, another underperforming forward, has seen his market value drop, making his exit difficult unless through a loan.

Meanwhile, although there have been internal discussions about Alejandro Garnacho, selling the Argentine winger seems highly unlikely due to his potential and popularity among fans.

If United can generate between £80 million and £100 million in player sales, Šeško could realistically become a Red Devil.

However, due to Premier League Profit & Sustainability Rules (PSR), not all of that money can be reinvested unless structured creatively over several financial periods.

From a tactical perspective, manager Rúben Amorim is reportedly enthusiastic about the idea of pairing Šeško with Højlund in a two-striker system.

Both players are young, physical, and offer complementary skill sets that could give United a more dynamic and flexible attacking setup.

The club sees this as a potential evolution of their current strategy—building a frontline that can challenge the top teams in both domestic and European competitions.
