Manchester United are closing in on securing the signing of Bryan Mbeumo, with a full agreement now in place between the club and Brentford.

The Cameroon international is set to become the latest addition to Ruben Amorim’s squad after a long stretch of negotiations that spanned several weeks.

The deal is believed to be worth between £60 million and £65 million, with the total fee including a range of performance-related add-ons that could be triggered during his time at Old Trafford.

Mbeumo is expected to travel to Manchester shortly to undergo his medical examination at United’s Carrington training complex.

With personal terms already agreed in principle, there are few obstacles left before the transfer is made official.

He is expected to sign a five-year contract, with an optional sixth year included as part of the agreement.

Once the formalities are completed, he will immediately join United’s pre-season preparations.

At 25 years old, Mbeumo brings a mix of pace, pressing ability, and directness—qualities that new manager Ruben Amorim has been looking to introduce to United’s attacking unit.

With the futures of both Jadon Sancho and Antony uncertain, Amorim had made Mbeumo one of his top priorities this window.

It’s understood the Portuguese boss took a personal interest in the player, following his development closely through scouting data and performance analytics over recent seasons.

Brentford were initially reluctant to part with one of their standout performers, but Manchester United’s improved financial offer ultimately swayed the West London club.

The final stages of the deal moved quickly, with negotiations accelerating in the last 48 hours before an agreement was struck.

Sources say United remained in constant contact with Mbeumo’s representatives throughout the process to ensure the player’s preferences were respected.

Mbeumo was also reportedly the subject of interest from both Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United, but he made it clear that a move to Old Trafford was his preferred destination.

His expected weekly wage is said to be in the region of £150,000 to £200,000—a figure that reflects United’s belief in his ability to make an immediate impact.

After an impressive 2024–25 season in which he tallied 20 goals and 8 assists, Mbeumo’s stock has risen significantly, making him one of the most sought-after attacking players in England.

Fans have already begun expressing their excitement on social media, with hashtags like #MbeumoIsRed trending across platforms.

Despite various false rumours circulating—such as claims about a £110 million Brazilian signing or Mbeumo already signing a deal until 2029—the facts are now becoming clearer. The focus is firmly on finalizing the medical and completing the documentation.

Once done, Bryan Mbeumo will officially become a Manchester United player, ready to help lead their frontline into a new era.
