The former manager further critiqued the penalty, remarking, “That was a bad penalty. Look at the goalkeeper; he should save it.
I mean, it’s gone underneath his hand. But, in the end, it went into the back of the net.”
Despite Sherwood’s criticism, Saka has been a standout performer for Arsenal and a significant goal threat.
He has taken on penalty duties, although this particular spot-kick raised concerns.
Notably, Saka experienced penalty heartbreak during the Euros final at Wembley Stadium, where he missed a crucial penalty in England’s loss to Italy.
However, since then, Saka has displayed resilience and proficiency from the spot, converting several challenging penalties.
His only penalty miss came in a draw with West Ham last season, and in the current campaign, he boasts a perfect record, scoring four out of four.
Saka’s two-goal performance against Burnley contributed to Arsenal’s pursuit of the title, keeping them within two points of league leaders Liverpool.
