BREAKING NEWS: Despite delivering an impressive performance, a midfielder from Arsenal is poised to depart this summer, and it’s not Ødegaard, Thomas Partey, or Elneny.

Mikel Arteta is anticipated to have a busy summer, both bringing in new players and letting others go as he continues to upgrade the Arsenal squad.

Despite a relatively quiet January transfer window for the Gunners, Arteta is expected to have funds at his disposal for the upcoming offseason.

While Arsenal has shown improvement in their offensive performance, especially with Leandro Trossard impressing as a false nine, there’s still a belief that adding a new striker could be a priority.

Even though Trossard has performed well in this role, there is a recognition that Arsenal might benefit from an upgrade on Eddie Nketiah for long-term success.

In addition to reinforcing the forward positions, Arteta is likely to focus on strengthening the midfield.

Although the prospects of acquiring players like Declan Rice and Jorginho seem uncertain, there is speculation that opportunities may open up for Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny elsewhere.

Furthermore, it appears that Albert Sambi Lokonga might be on his way out on a permanent basis, at least according to journalist Charles Watts.

Watts, in a discussion on YouTube, expressed his belief that Lokonga’s loan spell with Luton Town this season has been a success, but he sees limited chances for the midfielder to return to Arsenal’s first squad next season.

Watts suggested that Arteta and his coaching staff have likely shifted their focus away from Lokonga.

Addressing the possibility of Lokonga playing a role at Arsenal next season, Watts stated, “I don’t think so; I believe Arsenal has moved on a little bit from Sambi.

There will be changes in midfield for Arsenal, so he could, but I believe the most likely option at this point is that Arsenal will try to get some money back on Sambi in the summer.”

This insight suggests that while Lokonga has had an excellent loan spell, the likelihood of him being reintegrated into Arsenal’s first team appears slim.

Instead, the club is expected to explore the possibility of selling him during the summer transfer window to recoup some funds.

As Arteta strategizes for the summer transfer window, the emphasis on securing a new striker and bolstering the midfield reflects the ongoing efforts to enhance the squad’s overall quality and competitiveness.

The potential departure of Lokonga adds another layer to Arsenal’s transfer considerations as they look to build a squad capable of achieving their long-term objectives.
