Manchester United’s top transfer target has finally agreed personal terms to join the Red Devils!

Manchester United are reportedly exploring the possibility of signing Brentford’s star forward Bryan Mbeumo as they look to rejuvenate their squad after one of the most disappointing campaigns in their recent history.

Following a shocking 15th-place finish in the Premier League and the failure to qualify for any European competition, United are now prioritizing the summer transfer window to rebuild their attack, which severely underperformed throughout the season.

Bryan Mbeumo has emerged as a key transfer target after a standout season with Brentford, where he scored 20 goals in the Premier League.

His impressive goal-scoring tally places him among the top performers in the league, with only Erling Haaland, Mohamed S TTalah, and Alexander Isak managing to score more.

According to reports by journalist Ben Jacobs, Manchester United have begun preliminary discussions with the Cameroonian international, hoping to bring him to Old Trafford to partner with young winger Amad Diallo in what is expected to be a new-look frontline.

Brentford have reportedly placed a £50 million valuation on Mbeumo, though Manchester United could use the fact that his contract is set to expire at the end of the next season as leverage during negotiations.

With the Red Devils registering one of the lowest goal totals in the league—only managing to outscore Everton and the three relegated clubs—the urgency to sign effective attacking reinforcements is greater than ever.

Given the club’s current lack of Champions League football and diminished appeal to top-tier European players, United are now targeting high-performing individuals from mid-table or newly promoted clubs. Mbeumo fits this profile well.

His proven track record in the Premier League, combined with his versatility to play across all forward positions, makes him a valuable asset for new manager Ruben Amorim and the INEOS-led project aimed at rebuilding the team.

Since joining Brentford four years ago, Mbeumo’s development has been steady and consistent, making him a reliable performer season after season. His growing goal contribution reflects his increasing maturity and sharpness in front of goal.

With United seeking smart, cost-effective signings to address multiple weaknesses in the squad, acquiring a player of Mbeumo’s calibre would be a significant step forward.

In addition to Mbeumo, United are also reportedly monitoring other rising talents such as Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap and Wolves forward Matheus Cunha.

These players represent a new recruitment strategy focused on potential, form, and value rather than name recognition. Bringing in Mbeumo could mark the beginning of a transformative summer for Manchester United’s attacking department.
