OFFICIAL: Arsenal Finalizes £70m Attacker Signing After Board Approval Last Night

Arsenal have kicked off their summer transfer window with a major statement, completing the high-profile signing of Benjamin Šeško from RB Leipzig for a reported £70 million. The long-anticipated deal was finalized late last night following a decisive board meeting in which the club’s leadership agreed to release the necessary funds to complete the transfer.

The 21-year-old Slovenian forward, who has been widely regarded as one of Europe’s brightest young attacking talents, arrived in London early this morning. Upon landing, he was swiftly taken to Arsenal’s London Colney training ground to undergo a standard medical evaluation. If everything proceeds smoothly, Šeško is expected to be unveiled as an Arsenal player before the end of the day.

Manager Mikel Arteta has made no secret of his desire to reinforce the attacking line, and Šeško’s arrival is seen as a pivotal addition. With Gabriel Jesus frequently sidelined by injuries and Eddie Nketiah yet to establish consistent top-level form, the need for a reliable striker became pressing. Šeško could be the answer Arteta has been seeking to lead Arsenal’s frontline.

Šeško made a strong impression last season in the Bundesliga, scoring 14 goals and contributing 8 assists across all competitions. Known for his height, speed, and sharp instincts in the final third, he has drawn comparisons to some of Europe’s elite forwards and was on the radar of clubs like Chelsea and AC Milan.

However, it is understood that Arteta’s direct involvement, including several personal conversations outlining his tactical vision, was crucial in persuading the striker to choose Arsenal.

Arsenal’s qualification for the UEFA Champions League was another significant factor in Šeško’s decision, providing both the platform and prestige he was seeking. The club views this signing as a long-term investment, believing Šeško has the potential to lead the line for many years.

Behind the scenes, sporting director Edu Gaspar worked diligently to push the transfer over the finish line, receiving full support from the Arsenal board. Their willingness to authorize such a substantial fee reflects growing trust
