    At Old Trafford, Onana, the current first-choice goalkeeper, has faced challenges in living up to the standards set by his predecessor. 

    Despite his struggles, he managed to partially redeem himself with a crucial penalty save during stoppage time in a Champions League match against FC Copenhagen.

    According to reports from The Sun, Manchester United is reportedly willing to admit that allowing De Gea to depart was a misstep.

    While the 32-year-old goalkeeper is currently without a club, efforts are underway to bring him back to Manchester. During his previous 12-year stint with the club,

    De Gea set a new record for clean sheets, featuring in 545 appearances.

    As Onana is set to depart for an international tournament in January, United is hopeful that De Gea will agree to a temporary return.

    Despite signing Premier League newcomer Altay Bayindir in the summer, the Red Devils are leaning towards bringing in an experienced goalkeeper to replace Onana and potentially provide competition for him.
