Man United Step Up Pursuit of Bryan Mbeumo With Enhanced £60m+ Bid as Player Prioritizes Old Trafford Move

Manchester United have made significant progress in their pursuit of Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo, submitting a new and improved bid that strengthens their chances of sealing the deal.

The club’s renewed offer is reportedly worth over £60 million, with a greater portion of the fee guaranteed up front, and comes after an initial £55m bid (£45m plus £10m in add-ons) was rejected by the Bees.

Manager Rúben Amorim has clearly identified the final third as a critical area needing reinforcements ahead of the new season.

With Matheus Cunha already signed for £62.5 million to play one of the attacking midfield roles in Amorim’s preferred 3-4-2-1 system, the plan now is to partner him with Mbeumo in the dual No. 10 roles behind the central striker.

Despite strong interest from Champions League-qualified clubs like Arsenal, Newcastle, and Tottenham, Mbeumo has reportedly made it clear that he wants to join Manchester United.

This was reinforced by transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who stated on X (formerly Twitter) that United remain his priority and that negotiations with Brentford are still ongoing.

The new offer, which was quietly submitted over the weekend, only surfaced in public reports by Monday evening.

According to The Telegraph, a substantial portion of the updated bid includes an upfront payment, which is expected to appeal to Brentford’s valuation strategy.

The London club is using the £62.5m paid by United for Cunha as a benchmark, meaning they’re targeting a similar or slightly higher figure for Mbeumo.

Adding to the momentum, Romano confirmed that personal terms have already been verbally agreed between the player and Manchester United.

Mbeumo is fully focused on moving to Old Trafford and has not been swayed by recent developments, including Tottenham’s attempt to hijack the deal after Thomas Frank, his former manager at Brentford, took charge of Spurs.

The 25-year-old winger is coming off a career-best season, scoring 20 Premier League goals—ranking him fourth in the league behind only Mohamed Salah, Erling Haaland, and Alexander Isak.

His explosive pace, clinical finishing, and ability to link up play make him an ideal fit for Amorim’s tactical setup.

Moreover, Mbeumo’s Premier League experience ensures he can slot into the team with minimal adaptation time.

Insider Rudy Galetti recently reported that United are willing to push their offer as high as £63 million to land the Cameroonian attacker.

With both sides inching closer and the player eager to make the switch, a full agreement appears to be within reach.
