New manager Ruben Amorim has reportedly sent a strong message to Marcus Rashford after a tense exchange between the two, with Rashford’s future now under serious threat

In a major development at Manchester United, manager Ruben Amorim has reportedly delivered a firm ultimatum to Marcus Rashford, telling the forward, “You’re training alone; find a new club.”

This direct message highlights a growing rift between the Portuguese coach and the 27-year-old English international, raising serious questions about Rashford’s long-term future at his boyhood club.

Tensions between the pair have been simmering since Amorim’s appointment in November 2024, and this latest escalation reflects the manager’s hardline stance on discipline and professionalism.

Since taking charge at Old Trafford, Amorim has been clear about his vision: to rebuild the culture of Manchester United and raise standards across the board.

He succeeded Erik ten Hag with a mission to enforce strict discipline, intense work ethic, and complete dedication—values he feels some players, including Rashford, have fallen short of.

Club insiders report that Amorim has become increasingly frustrated with Rashford’s lack of consistency and perceived poor attitude during training sessions.

These issues led to the England international being dropped from several big fixtures last season, including against rivals like Manchester City and Tottenham, with the club citing “selection reasons” at the time.

The situation took a public turn when Rashford admitted in an interview that he was open to a “new challenge,” prompting speculation about a possible exit.

Amorim’s latest reported command—to train in isolation and pursue a move away—marks a clear sign that Rashford is no longer part of the manager’s plans.

Amorim has publicly emphasized that no player is above the team’s standards, regardless of reputation or past success.

He’s even gone as far as to claim he would rather play his 63-year-old goalkeeper coach, Jorge Vital, over a player not fully committed.

Rashford’s history at United makes this fallout even more dramatic.

Having joined the club as a seven-year-old, he has scored 138 goals in 426 games and was once hailed as a future club legend. His best season came in 2022-23 under Ten Hag, when he netted 30 goals.

But his form has since dipped, and even a productive loan spell at Aston Villa in early 2025—where he contributed 10 goal involvements—wasn’t enough to change Amorim’s mind.

Rashford’s high wages and inconsistent performances have also reportedly deterred clubs like Bayern Munich and Barcelona, despite his ambition to stay in top European football.

The broader context at United adds pressure to Amorim’s decision. United were in 13th place at Christmas 2024, one of their worst league positions in decades.

The club’s decline has fueled Amorim’s tough-love strategy, contrasting with previous managers who many believe were too soft on underperforming stars.

While some fans applaud his ruthless approach, others fear the loss of Rashford—especially if he thrives elsewhere—could come back to haunt United.

Rashford, for his part, has returned to training at Carrington even though he was reportedly granted time off to explore a transfer.

His social media hints, including a changed bio and workout posts, suggest he’s trying to show commitment, but Amorim seems unmoved.

With the transfer window in full swing, Rashford’s next steps—whether a move to a European powerhouse or a complete fresh start—will have major implications for both his career and Manchester United’s ongoing rebuild.
