Furious manager gives up on keeping £61M star after repeated transfer requests

In a development stirring excitement across social media and among fans, recent claims suggest that Randal Kolo Muani is set to join Manchester United from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for around €70 million.

These reports even include a dramatic alleged quote from PSG head coach Luis Enrique, supposedly saying he’s “decided to let him join Man United since he had the guts to threaten me,” while distancing himself from any blame if the move turns sour.

However, despite the viral headlines, there is currently no official confirmation from PSG, Manchester United, or any trusted football insiders that such a transfer is happening — or even close to being finalized.

To date, neither Luis Enrique nor any PSG official has publicly stated that Kolo Muani is on his way out this summer, let alone to Manchester United.

In fact, past statements from Enrique regarding Kolo Muani have been general, brushing off transfer speculation as something every coach must deal with — likening it to “fruit or fish in a market.”

This metaphor, while humorous, was far from a direct confirmation of any move and dates back to several months ago.

It’s true that Kolo Muani has struggled to fully establish himself under Enrique since his big-money move from Eintracht Frankfurt last year.

His role in PSG’s lineup has fluctuated, and that uncertainty has naturally led to transfer speculation.

Earlier in the year, there were rumors linking him to a possible loan-to-buy deal involving Manchester United, especially during the January window.

Yet those discussions never materialized into anything concrete — and since then, there’s been no credible update suggesting a revived pursuit.

Furthermore, top-tier football journalists such as Fabrizio Romano and David Ornstein, who typically break or confirm major deals, have not reported anything about Kolo Muani moving to United this summer.

There is no record of personal terms being agreed, a medical scheduled, or even a formal offer being submitted by United.

In this context, the viral reports declaring the move “done” are highly premature.

While the idea of Kolo Muani joining United is appealing to fans — particularly given Erik ten Hag’s stated desire to strengthen the attacking line — the reality is that there’s been no verified progress toward making the transfer happen.

Until official confirmations emerge from club channels or reliable journalists, the story remains a blend of speculation and recycled rumors.

So while the excitement around Kolo Muani potentially heading to Old Trafford is understandable, fans should remain cautious.

For now, it’s best viewed as just another twist in the summer transfer rumor mill — not a confirmed reality.
