BREAKING NEWS ‼️ “Arsenal will go trophyless again next season

    BBy B18 July 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

Former Manchester United defender and football pundit Rio Ferdinand has launched a scathing critique of Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, predicting that the Gunners are heading towards yet another trophyless season.

Speaking candidly during a post-transfer window media appearance, Ferdinand didn’t mince words as he labeled Arteta a “baby coach” and expressed strong disapproval of the club’s summer transfer strategy.

According to Ferdinand, Arsenal’s recent transfer activity reflects a lack of ambition and readiness to seriously challenge for major honours.

He suggested that the type of players Arteta is bringing in simply do not measure up to the signings made by fellow Premier League heavyweights like Chelsea and Liverpool.

Comparing the scale and impact of the acquisitions, Ferdinand argued that Arteta’s recruitment choices show he’s not prepared to bring Arsenal back to the top tier of English football.

“I’m not surprised by what Arsenal are doing,” Ferdinand said. “The club is likely to go another season without silverware. Just take a look at their signings.

When you place them alongside what Chelsea or Liverpool are doing in the market, it’s obvious—Arteta’s not ready to lead them back to the glory days.”

Arsenal confirmed three new arrivals during the summer transfer window, but those signings have divided both fans and analysts alike.

While the club maintains these additions align with its long-term vision and strategy, Ferdinand was blunt in his assessment, describing the transfers as “unnecessary and underwhelming.”

He argued that in contrast to their Premier League rivals—who are adding proven talent and title-winning experience—Arsenal’s recruits lack the pedigree needed to win trophies now.

Ferdinand further criticized Arteta’s apparent reluctance to make bold, high-stakes moves, which he sees as essential for a club aiming to compete at the highest level.

He claimed Arsenal had the opportunity to go “all-in” this season, particularly after years of waiting and rebuilding, but instead chose a cautious path that reflects a lack of growth in Arteta’s managerial approach.

“Arsenal fans have been incredibly patient,” he continued. “But this summer was supposed to be about making a serious push. These signings don’t show that. They seem safe, reserved, and show Arteta still hasn’t learned from his past mistakes.”

Ferdinand’s remarks have sparked intense debate across social media, with some Arsenal supporters defending Arteta’s long-term project, while others concede there may be some truth to Ferdinand’s claims.

Despite the backlash, sources close to Arsenal insist that Arteta remains fully confident in the club’s direction and believes the new players will exceed expectations as the season progresses.
