Manchester United reach full agreement with Leipzig after submitting first official €80M offer for Benjamin Sesko

FALSE REPORT: No €80M Agreement Between Manchester United and RB Leipzig for Benjamin Šeško

Despite the viral headlines and fan-driven hype, claims that Manchester United have agreed to an €80 million deal with RB Leipzig for Benjamin Šeško are completely inaccurate.

As of now, there is no official confirmation of such an agreement from any reputable journalist or trusted football source.

The narrative that “The Red Revolution is in full swing” and that INEOS has led United to a breakthrough signing is, at this point, fictional.

While it’s true that Manchester United have been keeping close tabs on Šeško for some time, particularly as part of their long-term strategy to reinforce the striker position, no formal offer has been publicly acknowledged, let alone accepted by RB Leipzig.

Let’s look at what’s actually known. Benjamin Šeško, the highly rated Slovenian forward, is one of the most sought-after young strikers in European football.

Manchester United, alongside clubs like Chelsea and Arsenal, have shown concrete interest in him over the last year.

However, in June 2024, Šeško extended his contract with Leipzig, a deal that reportedly includes a release clause — but crucially, that clause only becomes active in the summer of 2025.

Furthermore, Šeško himself has gone on record affirming his intention to remain at Leipzig for at least one more season.

The German club has no plans to sell the striker during the current transfer window, especially given his central role in their upcoming campaign.

The rumored €80 million bid from United simply does not exist. No top-tier journalist  such as Fabrizio Romano, David Ornstein, or Christian Falk has reported on a formal offer or an agreement between the clubs.

The entire claim appears to be an exaggerated fan fantasy or a piece of transfer fiction that gained momentum without verification.

That said, Manchester United’s interest in bolstering their attack is very real. Under the new leadership of INEOS and sporting director Dan Ashworth, the club is actively working on striker reinforcements — but with a disciplined and long-term outlook.

More realistic current targets include players like Joshua Zirkzee, Ivan Toney, or Jonathan David, all of whom fit United’s current financial and sporting plans more closely than Šeško.
