Chelsea delivered a commanding performance at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, April 5th, securing a dominant 5-0 victory over West Ham United in their Premier League fixture.

This significant win propelled Chelsea to their highest position of the season so far, placing them in seventh place in the league standings.

Right from the start, Chelsea demonstrated their intent with a strong and swift tempo that proved too much for West Ham United to handle.

Their early dominance allowed Chelsea plenty of opportunities in the attacking third, resulting in numerous scoring chances in the first half.

The opening goal came from Cole Palmer, who capitalized on a precise assist from Nicolas Jackson just 15 minutes into the game.

Captain Conor Gallagher further extended Chelsea’s lead with a well-taken finish in the 30th minute, firmly establishing their control over the match.

Thiago Silva then surprised everyone by providing an assist to Noni Madueke, who secured Chelsea’s third goal.

Meanwhile, West Ham struggled to mount meaningful attacks, with only 33% possession and no shots on target.

Chelsea continued their dominance in the second half, with Madueke demonstrating selflessness by setting up Jackson for an easy tap-in, extending Chelsea’s lead to 4-0 in the 48th minute.

Despite conceding, West Ham showed resilience, with possession statistics almost equalizing between the two teams.

Both managers, Mauricio Pochettino and David Moyes, made tactical substitutions in an attempt to change the course of the game.

However, Chelsea remained in control, and Jackson secured his second goal of the night in the 80th minute, assisted by Moises Caicedo.

Video Assistant Referee (VAR) confirmation confirmed Kurt Zouma’s timely pass to Jackson. Neither team managed to change the scoreline further, resulting in Chelsea’s resounding 5-0 victory.
