Arsenal players Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, Aaron Ramsdale, and David Raya are expected to return to the club in about three weeks, around August 5, following their time off after the European Championship final.
Although only Saka and Rice played in England’s 2-1 defeat to Spain, all four players have been granted time off after the season.
As a result, they will miss Arsenal’s US tour, which kicks off on July 21.
The team will play several friendlies in the US before returning to England at the start of August.
The players’ return date may come too soon for Arsenal’s match against Bayer Leverkusen on August 7, but the club hopes to have them back for the Emirates Cup against Lyon on August 11.
Other players, such as William Saliba, Jakub Kiwior, Jorginho, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Gabriel Magalhaes, Gabriel Martinelli, Kieran Tierney, Kai Havertz, and Leandro Trossard, who were eliminated earlier from international tournaments, are expected to return sooner. Some may join part of the US tour.
Martin Odegaard, Jurrien Timber, Benjamin White, Eddie Nketiah, Reiss Nelson, Fabio Vieira, and Emile Smith Rowe have been training in Marbella and will return with others before the flight to America on Sunday.
Arsenal’s Under-21s have already played their first summer friendly, and several players from the squad are aiming to join the traveling group for the summer.
Saka and Rice, having played extensive minutes for both club and country, will be closely monitored to ensure they receive adequate recovery time.
Arsenal is also looking to bolster their squad by adding forwards and central midfielders for competition and cover.
In 2021, Saka returned for Arsenal’s final pre-season friendly against Tottenham 28 days after playing in the Euro 2020 final with England.
The new campaign kicks off on August 17 with a home match against Wolves, and Arsenal aims to have their key players back but is prepared to manage without them if necessary to ensure they have sufficient recovery time.
The club is focused on building a strong squad to compete in the upcoming season and is working hard to bring in new players to strengthen their team.
