BREAKING NEWS: Manchester United’s Erik ten Hag has reportedly told a flop player to leave the club immediately

Manchester United suffered their second Premier League defeat of the season in a match against Brighton at the Amex Stadium.

The game ended in disappointment for United, with Brighton clinching the victory, as former United striker Danny Welbeck scored the decisive goal, marking almost ten years since he left Old Trafford.

The turning point came after a mistake by Harry Maguire, which allowed Welbeck to capitalize and score the opening goal for Brighton.

Earlier in the game, Amad Diallo missed a crucial opportunity to give United the lead while the score was still 0-0.

Joshua Zirkzee, who started the game on the bench, was subbed in at halftime to replace Mason Mount, making his appearance earlier than expected.

On the hour mark, Amad managed to equalize for Manchester United, bringing the game back to 1-1.

United nearly took the lead when Alejandro Garnacho had a promising chance to score and put them ahead 2-1.

However, Zirkzee, who was in an offside position, accidentally blocked Garnacho’s shot.

Brighton later secured the win in dramatic fashion when Joao Pedro scored an uncontested goal in the 94th minute, sealing the victory for the home side.

The performance of United’s players was mixed, with several key moments contributing to the result.

Irene Onana, the goalkeeper, spread the ball well and helped set up a chance for Diogo Dalot, but he was also lucky to avoid punishment after a risky play in his own third of the pitch.

Onana was rated a 6 for his performance. Youssef Mazraoui, who played hard throughout the match, was caught off guard by Welbeck’s opening goal but otherwise put in a solid effort against tough opposition, earning a score of 6.

Harry Maguire, who was at fault for not dealing with Joao Pedro’s cross that led to Welbeck’s goal, was subbed off before the end of the game, with Matthijs de Ligt taking his place.

Maguire received a rating of 5 for his performance.

Manuel Lisandro contributed well to United’s attacking efforts but made a critical defensive error by failing to mark Welbeck properly, leaving a gap that allowed James Milner to exploit and contribute to Brighton’s first goal.

Joao Dalot, however, delivered a strong performance, providing an excellent cross for Amad’s missed chance and even forcing Milner to clear the ball off the line.

Dalot was one of the better performers, rated 7 for his efforts.

Casemiro, who started the game brightly, saw his influence wane as the match progressed, and his defensive shortcomings became apparent.

His performance, particularly in the second half, was underwhelming.

Kobbie Mainoo, a young midfielder, looked fatigued after a demanding nine-month period of playing regularly.

His performance was below par, which earned him a rating of 5.

Amad, while managing to score the equalizer, missed a golden opportunity from Dalot’s cross and made an errant pass that could have changed the outcome.

Despite his goal, his overall performance was inconsistent.

Overall, the match was a frustrating one for Manchester United, as they were unable to capitalize on key opportunities and made costly errors that allowed Brighton to walk away with all three points.

His addition is seen as a critical step in strengthening United’s frontline, which has lacked consistency in recent seasons. With a playing style that combines technical brilliance and tactical intelligence, Isak has shown his ability to operate both centrally and in wider attacking roles. He is highly regarded for his agility, smart movement, sharp finishing, and strong ball control. Many top clubs have tracked him in recent years, but Manchester United now seem to have won the race for his signature. His age—early 20s—makes him a valuable long-term investment for the club. However, the mood among fans and pundits is optimistic, with many expecting an official announcement soon.
