BREAKING NEWS::Chelsea legend Didier Drogba calls for the manager to immediately bench the player who failed to win any challenges, despite a reasonable overall rating of 4 out of 10

Pedro Neto’s spot in the starting lineup is increasingly uncertain after a subpar performance that Alex Richards of The Mirror described as “invisible.”

His lack of impact was evident as he was substituted at halftime to make room for Jadon Sancho, who joined the team just before the international break.

Sancho immediately brought energy and creativity to the game, casting a stark contrast to Neto’s earlier lackluster display.

Neto’s early exit was likely due to his poor first-half showing.

Statistically, he contributed little, completing only 67% of his passes and making just one key pass.

Additionally, he failed to complete a single dribble, underscoring his inability to influence the game’s flow or create opportunities.

These statistics reflect a player out of form and possibly struggling with the tactical demands of his role.

The contrast between the first and second halves was significant.

Sancho, making his club debut, seemed determined to make an impression—and he did.

His presence reinvigorated the team, quickly finding his rhythm and setting up Nkunku for the winning goal.

Sancho’s impactful debut highlighted the difference between the two wingers, with Sancho standing out while Neto faded into the background.

The club’s decision to acquire Sancho in the final moments of the transfer window appears justified, given his immediate impact.

Match ratings emphasized the gap in performance. GOAL rated Neto a disappointing 4 out of 10, describing his performance as “anonymous,” reflecting his limited involvement in key game moments.

This poor showing has raised further questions about Neto’s position in the squad, especially with the pressure mounting after Sancho’s impressive first outing.

Although Neto provided an assist in an earlier high-scoring win over Wolves, his overall performances since joining from the Midlands have been underwhelming.

Part of his struggle may stem from positioning, as he has not been used on his preferred right side.

However, Neto will need to find ways to contribute regardless of where he is placed if he hopes to retain a spot in the starting lineup.

The competition Neto faces is only increasing. Both Madueke and Palmer have been favored on the right side in recent matches and have delivered consistent performances, making it difficult for Neto to break back in.

To regain his position, Neto will need to not only improve but also prove to the manager that he deserves a chance in his ideal role, where he has previously thrived.

Looking ahead, it’s unlikely Neto will be re-assigned to the right wing for the next game, and his position on the left is also in jeopardy following Sancho’s standout debut, which earned him the man of the match honor.

Sancho’s immediate impact at Stamford Bridge, combined with his rising confidence, suggests he’s poised to secure a regular spot in the lineup, potentially displacing Neto.

For Neto, the path to reclaiming a regular starting role is clear but challenging.

He’ll need to rediscover the form that once made him one of the league’s most promising young wingers.

If he fails, the competition for attacking positions could see him fall further down the ranks.

Sancho’s arrival only heightens this pressure, and if Neto wants to remain a crucial part of the team, he must elevate his performances and prove he can meet the expectations of his role.
