Chelsea secured a commanding 5-0 victory over Morecambe in the FA Cup third round, and manager Enzo Maresca took the opportunity to highlight Tosin Adarabioyo’s standout performance.
Speaking about the defender, Maresca praised his ability to exploit space and his composure with the ball.
“It’s a little bit the picture of the game. He was most of the time the only one with space. He was the only one that could carry the ball,” Maresca said.
The manager also acknowledged Adarabioyo’s technical ability, particularly his capacity to strike the ball cleanly.
“We are happy for him. He can do that strike a ball that well.
The only thing with a central defender, you struggle to see him at the edge of the box,” Maresca added.
Adarabioyo’s contribution was pivotal in Chelsea’s resounding victory, with the defender scoring twice during the match.
His brace was crucial in cementing the team’s dominance and advancing them to the next round of the competition.
The match also served as a platform for Chelsea to showcase their strength, with a blend of attacking prowess and solid defensive play.
While the victory highlighted the team’s overall performance, Adarabioyo’s role as a central defender taking on a more offensive position was a standout element.
His ability to step forward into spaces, often unoccupied, gave Chelsea an added dimension during the game.
